Half way!
I am now exactly half way through my exchange, so if I made it so far, I can handle the rest. It is beautiful here, the weather is finally warm and sunny, and we are doing Perceval in school this week. Along with reading the book and talking about it in class, our only other subject this week is an art project, which I am really enjoying, and there is no homework! I got a letter from Nana yesterday, with a very funny Baby Blues comic along with the note. I love getting the letters, thank you!!! I want to put some of the pictures and comics and drawings that have been sent to me up on my wall, I think I will start that tonight. Not this coming weekend, but the one after, I am going to go on a two-day trip with Maryse and a few of her friends around other parts of Switzerland, visiting - believe it or not - cheese farms. I think it will be really fun, and I love cheese, so that should be enjoyable and funny. I believe the cheese element of the trip was a special request of one of her friends. Anyway, only two months left until I'm coming home!

Hi Ally!!
I just got my internet hooked up again. We are in a new place in Northampton - much bigger and very nice. We live above a woman in her 70's/80s named Maria. It is really exciting: you'll have to come stay soon after you return to the US. I like the sound of that. Listen, I heard, maybe a week ago, that you and she who shall remain nameless have been having some issues. I'm sorry to hear that. And while I hope that it is starting to get straightened out, I think you should plan to go to Belgium whenever your classmate is going. The more you see and do, the more you are going to feel encouraged to go back - which is a good thing. I think Esther and I are going to try to travel next summer together. I am so happy to see you doing this and dealing with everything so well. Things have been crazy here on a number of levels. First of all, Jay is married now. And, you weren't here, which is weird - and I know that you probably feel some conflict over not having been here, but don't worry - they'll still be married when you get back. The thing that is going to be crazy, as Esther has pointed out, is that Mer is going to have a hard time if we are in North Carolina when Ying has her baby. I'm sure the sea will be some consolation. I figure it will stilll be a baby by the time we get back. We are going to Buffalo this weekend to drop off Esther's friend in Rochester and go see Dean and Mukti's baby Bella. I miss you and I love you. I will try to be less of a loser in the future (with regard to writing you - there are some ways I just can't help being a loser, but that's not one of them). Now that we are getting settled in, I have a little more time. I finish my job on May 30th, after which I will have a lot more time. You should come to stay for as long as you want. I am reading a book called The History of Love by Nicole Krauss. It's her second book and I think it's great. Esther is reading her first one, called A Man Walks Into A Room or something like that. She says it's better than the one I'm reading. Don't forget to be a dork whenever Kim's friends are sitting around thinking mundane thoughts about clothes and remembering to breathe. Check in with Maryse (sp?) and continue to explore - before long you will be an expert on all things Genevan.Have you been to the Bains des Paquis yet? I love you Ally. Let me know what's happening. Ciao
Matteo
